Life is special and not something to be taken lightly. In the poem A Coney Island Life, the author James L. Weil talks about the many hidden meanings pertaining to our lives. Like in the poem how you understand what the author is describing through words and metaphors. This poem is about the ways of lofe and the challanges that must be faced on the way.
The poem explains life through comparisons. In the poem it has a line that says "on rollercoaster ups and downs". The author is basically talking about life and how it also has its ups and downs. Its being compared to the rollercoaster's ups and downs and how there will be many good and bad times through life.
The poem also explains life through metaphors like for example, the line that says "and seen my hellium hopes break skyward without me". Sometimes in life when you have a dream or high hopes, it can slip away from you. The poem compares the balloon "hopes" flying high and away from the person and like how in life you have to grab at your chances before they slip away.
The poem essentially talks about the struggles in life and the challanges that must be faced on the way. This is important because it tells important things about life and matters in society since we all live in this particular society and will all be apart of this life.
