Allusion Poetry Final

Words that are spoken seem sincere,
but the reality and truth are two different things.
Truth depicts of a quality or state of something according to fact,
but "having to accept truth" is the reality.
The man says truth, which keeps others happy,
while he himself faces the reality of his actions.

The man is smart, conniving even, able to smooth talk anything and anyone.
It's not because he enjoys deceiving others, it's the opposite in fact.
Nobody likes being lied to, but sometimes, people can't handle the truth.
He sees this.
And I use that to mold my own morals and personal beliefs.
The man like all people has the ability to "do", but instead, he chooses to admit to an easy defeat.

Why take the long way through the journey when the shortcut is right next to the entrance?
It's like running miles with a broken leg instead of taking the bus.
Or spending hours trying to figure out the name of your favorite book,
when it's right there, sitting atop your book shelf.
It's pointless to fight your way through hardships and
then answer was clear to me, he and I are one the same.

Anything that requires the brain to work more than necessary is a fruitless battle.
Nothing is more devastating than the truth, so we thought.
Others thought he was just lazy and that his indifference made him a bad person.
But instead, he would ask people this:
Why would you speak the truth when you know it will hurt others?
And why would you risk telling someone your fears if the outcome can hurt you?

Why waste the tears and sleepless nights worrying about your hardships when the answer is clear?
The man Acedia, lured many into his trap, earning his name as "the sin of ignorance".
Including myself, the girl that has no will.
Although truthfully, such a person seems horrifying, but the reality is that he and I are the same.
The name of the game is to never settle for less,
but it's also to not push yourself if there's an easy way out.
